Scott Dann would welcome Emmanuel Adebayor to Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace defender Scott Dann says that Emmanuel Adebayor is "a quality striker" and would be welcomed by the players at the capital club.

Crystal Palace defender Scott Dann has branded Emmanuel Adebayor "a quality striker" amid suggestions that the Togo international is close to making the move to Selhurst Park.

Adebayor has been without a club since leaving Tottenham Hotspur in September, but Palace boss Alan Pardew revealed last week that his club were considering a move for the experienced striker.

Dann has now had his say on the 31-year-old and has insisted that he would have no problems settling into the team's "strong changing room".

"He is a quality striker and I am sure if he does come to the club he will do a good job," Dann told the Croydon Advertiser. "I am sure whoever comes into the club, whether it is Adebayor or somebody else, in this squad they will always fit in.

"I have been in other changing rooms and this is a strong changing room. I know there has been stuff said about him in the past but I am sure he is a good lad. And if he does come to the club he will do a good job."

A solid campaign to date has left Palace in eighth position in the Premier League table, but the capital outfit have not scored in their last five league games, suffering three defeats in the process.
