Crystal Palace defeat ten-men Burnley 2-0 at Selhurst Park.

Crystal Palace have recorded their first win of the new Championship season with a 2-0 success over ten-men Burnley at Selhurst Park.

The hosting Eagles took the lead after six minutes when Jonathan Parr headed in a Ryan McGivern cross from close range.

The points were sealed for Palace in the 66th minute courtesy of Owen Garvan, who converted from the penalty spot after Ben Mee had brought down Sean Scannell inside the area.

Visiting Burnley finished the game with ten men after Marvin Bartley received his marching orders for violent conduct.

Next up for Palace is a home encounter against Coventry City on Tuesday, August 16 while Burnley welcome Cardiff City to Turf Moor on Saturday, August 20.
