Paddy McCarthy signs new contract at Crystal Palace

Paddy McCarthy signs new contract at Crystal Palace, extending his stay at Selhurst Park until 2015.

Crystal Palace defender Paddy McCarthy has signed a new three-year deal with the club.

The Eagles captain made 43 league appearances for the club last season, and his new contract will see him remain at Selhurst Park until 2015.

McCarthy said: "I am delighted. It was something that myself, the manager and and the chairman have been talking about for some time.

"Everything is positive around the place. I'm very happy here and I have a great relationship with everyone at the club."

The 29-year-old signed for Crystal Palace from Charlton Athletic in 2008.
