Ian Holloway: 'Swansea City changed how I see football'

Ian Holloway says that watching Swansea City after his sacking from Leicester City changed the way he sees football.

Crystal Palace boss Ian Holloway has lavished praise upon Swansea City by revealing that they changed his entire perspective about the way to play football.

The Swans, fresh from their 3-0 victory over Valencia, make the trip to Selhurst Park on Sunday.

After being sacked by Leicester City in 2008, Holloway watched the Welsh side on a number of occasions and was impressed by their attractive passing style.

"Swansea have changed how I see the whole of football," he told reporters.

"When I was sacked by Leicester I went to watch four or five of their games and what they made me realise was how beautiful the game is and how passing and moving can make you a better defensive unit.

"Swansea will be heavy in possession and will move us around and try and play and that is a challenge."

In 2011, the 50-year-old got Blackpool promoted to the Premier League and won many admirers for their attacking football.
