Scottish Championship roundup: Hearts leave it late

Sports Mole rounds up all of Saturday's action from the Scottish Championship as runaway leaders Hearts leave it late to beat Queen of the South.

Scottish Championship leaders Hearts left it late to wrap up their win as Genero Zeefuik's 85th-minute goal gave them a 2-1 victory over Queen of the South at Palmerston Park.

Daniel Carmichael had put the home side ahead when he fired home from Lewis Kidd's cross on 23 minutes, but Hearts fought back and were level through Billy King just eight minutes later.

A quiet second half looked poised to peter out into a draw before Zeefuik popped up to steal three points that move Hearts 20 clear at the top of the table.

Hibernian moved back ahead of Rangers into second as they comfortably beat Dumbarton 3-0 at Easter Road.

Franck Dja Djedje opened the scoring for Alan Stubbs's side before a brace from Congolese striker Dominique Malonga, his 12th and 13th goals of the season, sealed the win.

Elsewhere, Falkirk moved closer to the top four with a comfortable 2-0 win over Livingston, thanks to goals from Kieran Duffy and Will Vaulks, while Alloa Athletic closed the gap on relegation rivals Cowdenbeath with a 2-0 win over the Blue Brazil at Central Park.

Results in full: Cowdenbeath 0-2 Alloa Athletic, Falkirk 2-0 Livingston, Hibernian 3-0 Dumbarton, Queen of the South 1-2 Hearts.
