Scottish Championship roundup: Hearts extend lead

Sports Mole rounds up the day's action in the Scottish Championship as Hearts extend their lead to 17 points.

Hearts extended their lead at the top of the Scottish Championship to 17 points with a 1-0 win at home to Livingston.

Jamie Walker struck his fifth goal in six games five minutes before the end of the first half at Tynecastle to give them the points.

The visitors were reduced to 10 men for the final 16 minutes after Nejc Praprotnik picked up his second yellow card of the half.

Sixth-placed Falkirk were pegged back by Raith Rovers at the death as they played out a 2-2 draw.

John Baird opened the scoring for the visitors from the penalty after 23 minutes, before Will Vaulks put through his own net on the hour mark to level the game up.

However, David McCracken gave his side the lead once more eight minutes later, but Ross Callachan had the final say with a stoppage-time equaliser.

Queens of the South edged out Alloa Athletic 1-0 thanks to Kevin Holt's second-half strike, before Kyle Benedictus was given his marching orders for the visitors late on.

Cowdenbeath got the better of things against Dumbarton as they scored two goals in three minutes to turn the game around.

Scott Taggart scored in 34th minute for the home side but Darren Brownlie and Kudus Oyenuga struck two quick-fire efforts to give the visitors the points.
