Coventry missed a last-minute penalty, squandering the opportunity to pick up their second home win of the season as they drew 1-1 with Reading this afternoon.
The Sky Blues took an early lead in the second minute thanks to winger Gary McSheffrey. The Scot fired past Adam Federici in the Reading goal from a tight angle.
They did not hold the lead for long, however, as the Royals were level eight minutes later.
Forward Simon Church arrived 12 yards from goal and slid home the equaliser.
The game seemed destined to end a draw until the very last kick of the game. Coventry striker Lukas Jutkiewicz was upended by Kasper Gorkss in the area and the frontman stepped up himself, only to fire high over Federici's crossbar.
Coventry remain one place above the drop zone in 21st while Reading drop one place to 15th.
