Aston Villa agree Jose Angel Crespo deal

Cordoba have confirmed that they have agreed a deal with Aston Villa for defender Jose Angel Crespo.

The 28-year-old joined the Spanish outfit on a season-long loan deal from Bologna last summer before making the move permanent.

Crespo was part of the Cordoba side that suffered relegation from La Liga last term.

"Cordoba and Aston Villa have reached an agreement for the transfer of Jose Angel Crespo to the English team," Cordoba wrote on their official Twitter account.

"The defender, after an agreement in principle between the clubs, travels to England today to undergo a medical before signing."

Crespo has also played for Sevilla, Racing Santander, Padova and Verona.
