Second-half goals from Maynor Figueroa and Kevin Doyle have given Colorado Rapids a 2-1 win over Sporting Kansas City in the Western Conference.
Colorado started the game brightly, with Juan Ramirez missing two good chances early on, before Doyle almost connected with a Figueroa free kick.
The Rapids missed another chance before half time through Axel Sjoberg, who headed over the bar from a Vicente Sanchez corner.
Kansas came close to taking the lead before the break, as Graham Zusi found Dom Dwyer, but the English striker's header fell straight to Colorado goalkeeper Clint Irwin.
Sporting looked dangerous in the second half, and took the lead on 47 minutes through Dwyer.
The visitors' lead did not last long though, as former Wigan Athletic defender Figueroa levelled the scores with a powerful strike.
Colorado took the lead on 77 minutes through former Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Doyle, who connected with an inviting cross from Sanchez.
Dwyer had an opportunity to find an equaliser late on, but his effort was well saved by Irwin.
