Willian has reportedly reiterated that he will not look to leave Chelsea before the end of the season.
While the playmaker would prefer to pen a new three-year contract at Stamford Bridge, club officials are not prepared to meet the Brazilian's demands.
As it stands, that will lead to the 31-year-old being free to move to a new club when his existing deal expires at the end of June.
However, The Athletic claims that Willian has assured club officials that he will see out the campaign with the West Londoners.
Given the uncertainty surrounding the resumption of the Premier League, that could see the long-serving midfielder represent Chelsea until at least August.
The Blues have recently announced contract extensions for Willy Caballero and Olivier Giroud, who had previously found themselves in a similar situation to Willian.
