Report: Eden Hazard to sign new Chelsea deal

A report claims that Belgian attacker Eden Hazard is close to signing a new long-term deal with Chelsea that will make him the highest-paid player in the club's history.

Eden Hazard is reportedly close to signing a new long-term deal with Chelsea.

The 23-year-old joined the Blues from Lille in 2012 and has scored 31 times in 114 appearances for the Premier League outfit - including 17 in all competitions last season.

The Belgian's current deal expires in 2017, but Chelsea want to make the attacker the club's best-paid player in their history in a bid to convince him to commit his future to them, according to Goal.com,.

Paris Saint-Germain have been strongly linked with a move for the forward, but it is understood that Hazard wants to sign fresh terms with his current club.

Hazard came close to joining Manchester United in 2012, but eventually opted for Stamford Bridge.
