Chelsea are reportedly planning to move for Liverpool striker Christian Benteke this summer if they fail in their pursuit of Everton forward Romelu Lukaku.
Incoming Blues manager Antonio Conte is believed to be keen to sign Lukaku, who left Stamford Bridge in 2014 following a three-year spell at the club.
The Belgian was shipped out on loan to West Bromwich Albion and Everton as he struggled for first-team action at Chelsea, but the London club are said to be preparing a bid for the striker's return.
According to The Times, should they fail to land Lukaku, Chelsea will swoop for Benteke, who has scored nine goals in 29 Premier League appearances for Liverpool.
The 25-year-old joined Liverpool last summer from Aston Villa for £32m, but has failed to cement a regular spot in the team having dropped to third choice behind Daniel Sturridge and Divock Origi.
