N'Golo Kante completes move to Chelsea from Leicester City

Chelsea announce the signing of N'Golo Kante from Leicester City on a five-year deal for a reported £32m fee.

Chelsea have announced the signing of N'Golo Kante from Leicester City on a five-year deal.

The France international played a pivotal role in the Foxes' historic Premier League title-winning campaign last season, which in turn attracted a large number of admirers.

Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri tried to keep Kante at the King Power Stadium by offering the midfielder a new deal, but the 25-year-old's head was turned by Chelsea.

According to Sky Sports News, the West London outfit have parted with £32m to clinch the capture of Kante, who joined Leicester for a reported £5.6m from Caen just 12 months ago.

The midfielder becomes Antonio Conte's second signing following the arrival of striker Michy Batshuayi from Marseille.

"I am so happy to have signed for one of the biggest clubs in Europe," Kante told the club's official website. "It's a dream come true for me.

"The opportunity to work with Antonio Conte, a brilliant coach, and some of the best players in the world was simply too good to turn down.

"My first season in English football was very special and now I hope to go on to achieve even more during my time as a Chelsea player. I am looking forward to meeting up with my new teammates and helping the club achieve a lot of success."

Kante, who played in all but one of Leicester's league games last season, was named in the PFA Team of the Year.
