Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has confirmed that he wants Romelu Lukaku and Kevin de Bruyne to join the first-team squad next season.

Lukaku scored 17 goals on loan at West Bromwich Albion last season, while De Bruyne, who has yet to play for the Blues, impressed on loan at Werder Bremen.

It had been suggested that the pair could spend another season away from Stamford Bridge, but the Portuguese has quelled such claims.

"It is my work to extract the best out of them. I think both of them are ready to come and ready to be part of our squad," he told reporters at a press conference on Monday.

Mourinho initially took charge of Chelsea in 2004 before leaving in 2007.
