Galatasaray rule out John Terry move

Galatasaray insist that they are not interested in signing Chelsea captain John Terry.

Galatasaray have dismissed reports claiming that they are interested in signing Chelsea captain John Terry.

It was suggested last week that the Turkish champions were planning a January bid for the 32-year-old defender.

However, Gala chief executive Lutfi Aribogan has insisted that there is no truth in the rumours.

"John Terry is a great player, however our transfer priority is not to sign a centre-back," Clubcall.com quotes him as saying. "Our main goal is to target younger players and reduce the average age of the team.

"Terry is definitely not in any of our plans, neither Roberto Mancini or the board have shown any interest and no enquiries have been made.

"The club aims to sign Turkish players during the transfer window, all these rumours do is demotivate our defenders. I'm going to say it again and make it very clear, we are not interested in Terry."

The former England captain will be out of contract at Chelsea at the end of the season.
