Radamel Falcao nearing Atletico Madrid return?

On-loan Chelsea striker Radamel Falcao reportedly travels to Spain in order to push through a surprise deadline-day move to former club Atletico Madrid.

On-loan Chelsea striker Radamel Falcao is reportedly nearing a surprise return to Atletico Madrid.

The Colombian has endured a miserable time in England so far, scoring just four times for Manchester United last season and adding only one to that tally in 11 appearances for Chelsea this term.

Parent club AS Monaco have reportedly rejected the chance to bring the 29-year-old back to them due to his current condition.

Falcao is understood to be desperate to leave the Premier League having fallen even further down the Stamford Bridge pecking order following the January arrival of Alexandre Pato.

The Telegraph reports that Falcao has travelled to the Spanish capital on deadline day ahead of a proposed move back to Diego Simeone's side.

The striker scored 70 goals in just 91 appearances during a two-year spell at the Vicente Calderon.
