Didier Drogba's Chelsea future in doubt

Marseille's sporting director claims that Didier Drogba will be moving away from Chelsea.

Marseille sporting director Jose Anigo has cast doubt over Didier Drogba's future at Chelsea.

The Ligue 1 side had been linked with a move for their former player.

However, Anigo has indicated that the Ivorian has decided to move to another club.

"During the transfer window we need to be clever and we need to recruit a striker since that is the choice of the coach," he told Telefoot.

"It won't be Didier Drogba, I can already tell you this.

"I spoke to him on the phone and he told me firmly that he has a good reason to go somewhere else and therefore he prefers to live somewhere else."

Drogba spent a year at Marseille before his £24m move to Chelsea in 2004.
