The Gabon international is considering whether to extend his contract at the Emirates Stadium past 2021, with a number of clubs believed to be closely monitoring developments.
According to the Daily Mail, the Gunners skipper may have made the switch to his club's London rivals earlier this campaign had it not been for his wage demands.
The 31-year-old is said to have been keen on a move to Stamford Bridge, but Chelsea were not interested in breaking their pay structure to accommodate the attacker, who scored twice as Arsenal beat Frank Lampard's side in Saturday night's FA Cup final.

Chelsea have reportedly learned that Red Bull Salzburg's Dominik Szoboszlai will be available for just £26m during this summer's transfer window.

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has talked up his relationship with director Petr Cech as the Blues look to further boost their squad during this summer's transfer window.
Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech have already joined the club ahead of the 2020-21 campaign, while a deal for Bayer Leverkusen youngster Kai Havertz is thought to be close.
