Chelsea are reportedly becoming increasingly confident of striking a deal for Inter Milan forward Romelu Lukaku during this summer's transfer window.
The Belgium international enjoyed an impressive 2020-21 campaign at club level, scoring 30 times in 44 appearances in all competitions, including 24 in Serie A as Inter won the title.
The 28-year-old has a contract at San Siro until June 2024, but the Italian champions are likely to part with some key players in the upcoming market due to their financial issues.
Antonio Conte has now left as head coach, with the Italian allegedly being informed of the club's plans to sell a number of players, and according to the Sunday World, Chelsea are ready to swoop for Lukaku.
The report claims that Blues owner Roman Abramovich is ready to give the green light on a £65m move for the former Anderlecht youngster.
Lukaku previously represented Chelsea between 2011 and 2014 but struggled to make his mark at Stamford Bridge, failing to score in 15 first-team appearances.
The Belgian has an impressive record in the Premier League, though, finding the back of the net on 113 occasions during spells with Everton, Manchester United and West Bromwich Albion.
