Chelsea have reportedly pencilled in talks with Inter Milan over the prospect of Matias Vecino signing for the Blues.
Despite only moving to San Siro last summer, the Uruguay midfielder impressed for the Nerazzurri in 2017-18, making 29 appearances in Serie A with a haul of three goals and three assists.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Vecino has been told that he will not be sold to a domestic rival this summer, paving the way for the former Premier League champions to step in.
The report also claims that Maurizio Sarri is keen to work with the 26-year-old once again, the two having previously been on the books at Empoli.
Vecino, whose club is preparing to take on Chelsea in the International Champions Cup this weekend, is currently still on holiday following his World Cup quarter-final run with the Celeste.
