Chelsea confirm that they have allowed midfielder Lucas Piazon to spend the rest of the season on loan at Chievo.

Chelsea have confirmed that they have allowed midfielder Lucas Piazon to join Chievo on loan for the rest of the season.

Piazon made a surprise appearance on the bench for Chelsea's EFL Cup clash with Tottenham Hotspur last week, but that inclusion has not prevented the Blues from being happy to part ways with the playmaker.

The Brazilian linked up with the West Londoners in 2012, but just three appearances have been made in all competitions with loan spells having been spent away from Stamford Bridge.

Piazon spent much of the last two seasons at neighbours Fulham, with a total of 12 goals being scored from 58 appearances for the Cottagers.

The player has less than six months on his contract and will likely leave on a free transfer in the summer.
