Chelsea are understood to be in talks with Roma over a potential deal for left-back Emerson Palmieri.

According to Sky Sports News, Brazilian-born Palmieri is considered a priority by Blues boss Antonio Conte, who is looking to bolster his squad for the remainder of the season.

The source also says that Roma are prepared to let the Italian international, who is reportedly keen on a move to Stamford Bridge, leave the club for £20m.

Palmieri moved to Italy from Brazilian outfit Santos in 2015, but has played just 15 minutes of Serie A football this season.

The 25-year-old, who is now an Italian citizen, has represented Brazil at Under-17 level.
