Chelsea emerge as the favourites to sign Bayer Leverkusen attacker Leon Bailey, according to a report.

Chelsea have reportedly emerged as the favourites to sign Bayer Leverkusen attacker Leon Bailey.

Bailey joined Leverkusen from Genk in January 2017, and has scored 13 times in 46 appearances for the Bundesliga outfit in all competitions.

The 21-year-old is believed to be a transfer target for a whole host of European clubs, and his future was the subject of much speculation during the summer transfer window.

According to Fussball Transfers, despite strong interest from Bayern Munich, Bailey is keen to join Chelsea, and will snub interest from elsewhere if the Blues can agree a deal with Leverkusen.

Bailey - contracted to Leverkusen until the summer of 2023 - has already scored once in two Bundesliga appearances during the 2018-19 campaign.
