Chelsea will reportedly not make an attempt to sign Real Madrid defender Achraf Hakimi this summer.
The Blues have recently been linked with the 21-year-old, who has scored 10 times and provided eight assists in 40 appearances while on loan at Borussia Dortmund this season.
Hakimi is due to return to the Bernabeu this summer, and a number of clubs are believed to be interested in securing his services ahead of the 2020-21 campaign.
However, according to The Athletic, Frank Lampard's side have abandoned their pursuit of the Morocco international due to the performances of Reece James.
The 20-year-old excelled during a loan spell at Wigan Athletic last season and has been heavily involved for his parent club during the 2019-20 campaign, making 26 appearances in all competitions.
James signed a new five-year contract with the Blues earlier this year.
