Gary Cahill signs new four-year contract at Chelsea

Gary Cahill signs a new four-year contract at Chelsea, extending his stay at the Premier League club until 2019.

Chelsea have announced that Gary Cahill has signed a new four-year contract at Stamford Bridge.

The 29-year-old defender, who has won the Premier League, Champions League, Europa League and FA Cup with the Blues, has extended his stay at the club until 2019.

Cahill, who has been battling Kurt Zouma for a place in Jose Mourinho's team this season, has made 177 appearances for the West London outfit, scoring 15 times.

"I'm really pleased to commit my future to Chelsea and it's great the club has put their faith in me," Cahill told the club's official website. "I have achieved a lot here and I hope I can keep on learning, helping the team and lifting trophies over the next four years."

The defender joined Chelsea in 2012 from Bolton Wanderers for a reported £7m fee.
