Wayne Rooney is not named in Everton's 18-man squad for the Premier League fixture with Chelsea at Goodison Park.

Wayne Rooney has not been named in Everton's 18-man squad for the Premier League fixture with Chelsea at Goodison Park.

Rooney has impressed in recent weeks but the forward has failed to shake off flu ahead of the clash with the West Londoners, while Ashley Williams and Mason Holgate only feature on the bench for the same reason.

Michael Keane and Phil Jagielka come into the centre of defence, while Tom Davies has replaced Rooney in a midfield three alongside Idrissa Gueye and Morgan Schneiderlin.

Oumar Niasse has returned to the substitutes' bench, while Yannick Bolasie makes his first appearance among the replacements after over a year out with a serious knee injury.

As for Chelsea, Antonio Conte has opted to go with Willian, Pedro and Eden Hazard in attack, with Alvaro Morata serving a one-match ban for five yellow cards.

Tiemoue Bakayoko gets the nod over Cesc Fabregas in midfield, while Antonio Rudiger is preferred to Gary Cahill in defence.

Teenager Callum Hudson-Odoi is named on the bench for a Premier League fixture for the first time, having been included in the squad for the EFL Cup tie with Bournemouth in midweek.

Everton: Pickford; Kenny, Keane, Jagielka, Martina; Gueye, Schneiderlin, Davies; Lennon, Sigurdsson, Calvert-Lewin
Subs: Robles, Williams, Bolasie, Ramirez, Niasse, Holgate, Baningime,

Chelsea: Courtois; Azpilicueta, Christensen, Rudiger; Moses, Kante, Bakayoko, Alonso; Willian, Hazard, Pedro
Subs: Caballero, Cahill, Zappacosta, Drinkwater, Fabregas, Hudson-Odoi, Batshuayi
