Ian Wright: 'I would get rid of Diego Costa'

Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright reveals that he would sell Diego Costa if he were in charge at Chelsea.

Former England striker Ian Wright has suggested that Chelsea should sell Diego Costa in January if they can find a buyer.

The 27-year-old has failed to replicate his form from last season, and Wright believes that the club do need to buy a striker in the winter transfer window if they want to make the Champions League places.

Wright told BT Sport: "When you look at their squad, I do not think they do need any new signings but something's happening in there where they are not functioning like they used to.

"If I was in, if I could get a striker then I would get one. What do you mean you do not need someone? I said that if you could get rid of Costa if I could in January.

"If he could get someone like [Edinson] Cavani and get Costa out, I would do it."

Costa has scored three goals in 14 appearances in all competitions so far this season.
