Willian to miss Leicester City clash on compassionate leave

Chelsea winger Willian will miss Saturday's match against Premier League champions Leicester City after being granted compassionate leave.

Chelsea forward Willian has been granted compassionate leave following the death of his mother.

The 28-year-old paid tribute to his mother on Thursday following her passing, reportedly of cancer.

The Brazilian will now miss Saturday's visit of Premier League champions Leicester City as Antonio Conte's side look to make it back-to-back wins either side of the international break.

"All of us at Chelsea Football Club are sending our love and deepest condolences to Willian and his family after the passing of his mother. We are thinking of you Willian," read a statement on Chelsea's official website.

Willian has started all but one of Chelsea's seven league outings this season, scoring two goals.
