Fernando Torres admits that Roman Abramovich has ensured that there is a place for the Spanish striker at Chelsea.

Chelsea striker Fernando Torres has insisted that club owner Roman Abramovich has expressed his complete support of the Spaniard.

The former Liverpool frontman recently hinted that he was considering his future with the London club following the Blues' Champions League victory a fortnight ago.

"I had a conversation with the owner of Chelsea and he trusts me," said Torres. "His confidence is total and that is what I needed to keep fighting and continue to be essential for the team."

The 28-year-old failed to cement a regular spot in the side's starting lineup throughout his first full season with the former English champions.
