Fernando Torres is relishing the competition for places among the strikers at Chelsea and believes that it will motivate him to find his best form.
The 29-year-old forward has been rotated with Samuel Eto'o and Demba Ba so far this season, but scored a brace in the 3-0 Champions League win over Schalke to make a case for a more regular starting berth.
Rather than be frustrated at being in and out of Jose Mourinho's team, Torres has insisted that the fierce battle to lead Chelsea's line will inspire him to take the most of his opportunities.
"We have three very good strikers and hopefully we can all score goals," he told reporters. "When you get the chance you have to take it and score goals. The competition is very healthy.
"As a team we're feeling good. I feel very sharp and as a team we are very fit. We can play a lot of games and we need to be ready for them."
Torres has scored four goals in all competitions this season, compared to one goal from Eto'o and none from Ba, who has made the least appearances out of the trio.
