Brendan Rodgers has admitted that Swansea City sacrificed their FA Cup chances this weekend in order to put up a fight against Chelsea in the Premier League.

Rodgers rested 10 players as Swansea suffered a 2-1 defeat to Bolton Wanderers on Saturday.

"As soon as you get that first victory against a so-called big club, that gives you motivation and belief," Rodgers said.

"Ultimately, though, at home no matter who the opponent is we have a great belief we can get a good result."

Rodgers reiterated his belief that Premier League survival is Swansea's top priority.

"Are we looking over our shoulders? Absolutely," he said.

"Six or seven months ago, we were in the Championship and fighting for our lives.

"There is no complacency. We have to fight for our lives and that is the mentality I put into the group."
