Chris Ramsey defends Robert Green over Chelsea winner

Queens Park Rangers boss Chris Ramsey defends Robert Green for a mistake that led to Chelsea's winning goal in Sunday's 1-0 win for the Blues.

Chris Ramsey has defended goalkeeper Robert Green for a poor clearance which led to Queens Park Rangers conceding a late goal in their 1-0 defeat to Chelsea on Sunday.

The R's keeper kicked straight to Eden Hazard after slicing the ball, before Cesc Fabregas netted the winner seconds later, but Ramsey refused to be critical of the former England international.

"No, I'm not having that as a mistake," Ramsey told BBC Sport. "It's a bad kick, but we've had ample opportunity to defend the attack and we haven't.

"I'm not putting the blame anywhere near [Green]. It's a windy day, he's kicked it and it hasn't hit anyone and we've had a long time to defend that and we haven't defended it properly."

The defeat leaves Ramsey's side two points from safety in the Premier League.
