Winger Pedro says that he is pleased that he remained at Chelsea after interest from former club Barcelona during the summer.

Pedro has revealed that he is happy to have remained at Chelsea during the summer after attracting interest from former club Barcelona.

The winger has previously acknowledged that he held discussions with the Catalan giants, but after a mixed first campaign, the Spaniard has established himself as a key part of a Chelsea side who currently top the Premier League table.

Pedro is expected to start when the Blues travel to the Etihad Stadium to face Manchester City on Saturday afternoon, and he has admitted that the game has ensured that he and his teammates do not lose focus after putting together seven successive victories.

The 29-year-old told the Evening Standard: "Am I glad I stayed at Chelsea? Yes. I am showing what I can do in a Chelsea shirt.

"Everyone is playing well and putting in good performances. We want to keep this form going. We have won seven straight games and it's a very good moment for us, for the team and the supporters.

"We could enjoy the win over Tottenham for a couple of days but we must work very hard during the week ahead of playing Manchester City because it's a big game for us."

Pedro has scored a total of 11 goals in 55 appearances for Chelsea since signing for the club in August 2015.
