Jose Mourinho: 'Our position is fake'

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho insists that the club's league position only matters when every team has played the same number of games.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has insisted that the club's current league position is "fake".

The Blues currently top the Premier League table ahead of Liverpool, but with third-placed Manchester City having two games in hand on his side, Mourinho has questioned whether his team are the true leaders in the race for the title.

The 51-year-old told reporters: "The team has been playing well for a long time but the situation is fake.

"It only matters when we have all had the same number of matches."

Chelsea travel to Selhurst Park on Saturday afternoon to play Crystal Palace.
