Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has claimed that parents and agents are to blame for young players' being more focused on money than their development.

The Portuguese coach intends to field academy products Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Nathan Ake and Isaiah Brown in tonight's match against West Bromwich Albion.

During a discussion with the club's official website regarding the development of players, Mourinho claimed that 'pushy' parents and agents prevent "stability" for some young footballers.

"The agents and the parents because when the players are almost there and are in the process to be almost there, parents and agents think they are already there and they make the players think they are there, and they are not there," said Mourinho.

"So instead of thinking about money during a career, they think about money before a career starts and everything gets very confused. That doesn't help the players because the players need stability."

Chelsea sealed the Premier League title earlier this month with a 1-0 win over Crystal Palace.
