David Meyler is confident that Hull City can cause an upset against Chelsea in their Premier League opener.

Hull City midfielder David Meyler has insisted that he and his teammates are strong enough to cause an upset against Chelsea on the opening day of the 2013-14 Premier League campaign.

The Tigers will go up against the Blues at Stamford Bridge on Jose Mourinho's first league game in charge of the West London outfit since returning for a second stint.

"I'm sure the manager will have us all fired up and ready to go for that opening game against Chelsea," The Herald quotes Meyler as saying. "Jose Mourinho will do the same with his players and they'll be hoping to win the league. It will be tough, but maybe we can spoil his party."

Hull earned promotion to the Premier League last season.
