Frank Lampard to be appointed by Chelsea in next two days?

Frank Lampard is to leave his position as Derby County manager and take over at Chelsea within the next 48 hours, according to a report.

Club legend Frank Lampard will reportedly be announced as Chelsea's new manager in the next couple of days.

The 41-year-old, who made 648 appearances for the Blues during a 13-year playing career at Stamford Bridge, is the strong favourite to succeed Maurizio Sarri in the dugout.

Lampard has spent just one season in management, coming at Derby County in 2018-19 when guiding the Rams to within one win of Premier League promotion.

Following a couple of weeks of speculation regarding his future, talkSPORT claims that the Englishman will land his dream job in the next 48 hours.

The report indicates that Jody Morris, Lampard's current number two at Derby, will join him at Chelsea.

Sarri left the West London outfit last week after one season at the helm to take over at Italian champions Juventus.
