Kenwright: 'No concerns over Barkley move'

Everton chairman Bill Kenwright has "no concerns" over Ross Barkley's £15m move to Chelsea following Liverpool mayor Joe Anderson's grievances over the deal.

Everton chairman Bill Kenwright has claimed that he has "no concerns" over Ross Barkley's £15m move to Chelsea.

The England midfielder, who turned down a £35m move to Stamford Bridge on transfer deadline day last summer, completed his switch to the Premier League champions earlier in January.

Liverpool mayor Joe Anderson asked police to investigate whether any "fraud" has taken place surrounding Barkley's transfer to Chelsea and also urged the heads of the Football Association and Premier League to look into the deal.

Kenwright, however, insisted that everything was "immaculate" regarding the 24-year-old's move, telling BBC Sport: "It was a deal we agreed because the boy didn't want to play for Everton.

"I've got no concerns at all, over what Joe said. I've got no concerns at all about Chelsea who were immaculate as they were in the summer, absolutely immaculate."

Barkley, who spent 13 years at Goodison Park, has not played for seven months because of a hamstring injury and had surgery in August.
