Roberto Di Matteo: Older players could be key

Chelsea interim boss Roberto Di Matteo believes that his more experienced players are key in the bid to secure fourth place this season.

Chelsea interim manager Roberto Di Matteo has revealed that the more experienced players in his squad could be key in the race for fourth.

Di Matteo believes that players such as John Terry, Frank Lampard and Ashley Cole give his side an advantage due to the number of matches they have played under similar pressure.

The Italian said: "We have players that have been in this situation and have the experience to be playing in all these important games with a lot of pressure.

"That could prove decisive."

Chelsea face fifth-placed Newcastle United on Wednesday night.
