Chelsea hope David Luiz will pass a fitness test in time for Saturday's FA Cup final.

Chelsea are optimistic that David Luiz will win his battle to be fit in time for this Saturday's FA Cup final against Liverpool.

The Brazilian pulled a hamstring during the Blues' semi-final victory over Tottenham Hotspur, forcing him to sit out of both Champions League clashes with Barcelona.

However, Roberto Di Matteo is said to be unwilling to gamble on Luiz's fitness as he may end up being the only recognised centre-back when Chelsea meet Bayern Munich on May 19.

Both John Terry and Branislav Ivanovic will be missing through suspension, while Gary Cahill remains a doubt after limping off at the Nou Camp with a hamstring injury.
