David Luiz admits that he was desperate to win the FIFA Club World Cup with Chelsea, and admits that he "cried" after their loss to Corinthians in the final on Sunday.

Chelsea defender David Luiz has admitted that he is disappointed with his side's failure to win the FIFA Club World Cup.

Last season's Champions League winners went down 1-0 to Brazilian giants Corinthians in the final on Sunday, thanks to a goal from Paolo Guerrero.

"I have a heavy heart," The Sun quotes the Brazilian as saying. "I cried. I wanted to win.

"I dreamed one day of playing in the Club World Cup final. I play for a big club and big clubs win big games and big titles. You can cry one night. Tomorrow is another day.

"The difference was one goal and we had many chances to score. The difference was details. I congratulate Corinthians but I cannot be happy. I wanted to win this title."

Chelsea are back in action on Wednesday when they take on Leeds United in the League Cup quarter-finals.
