Antonio Conte confirms David Luiz selection

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte confirms that David Luiz will start Friday's Premier League clash with Liverpool due to the absence of skipper John Terry.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has confirmed that David Luiz will make his second debut for the club in Friday night's Premier League clash with Liverpool at Stamford Bridge.

Luiz, who returned to Chelsea on transfer deadline day, was an unused substitute in his team's 2-2 draw with Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium last weekend.

However, with Blues skipper John Terry out of action with an ankle injury, Conte, speaking at his pre-match press conference, has revealed that Luiz will start in central defence alongside Gary Cahill.

"David Luiz will play for the first time, again. We all know he is a good player and we have been working on his confidence since his return. We are working to put him in the best position for the team. He has been working on defensive situations when we are in possession of the ball," Conte told reporters.

Chelsea, who have no European football this season, have won three and drawn one of their four Premier League matches this term, with a total of 10 points leaving them second in the table.
