Chelsea are handed a selection boost ahead of their Premier League encounter against Liverpool on October 20.

Chelsea have been handed a significant selection boost ahead of their trip to Liverpool after the October international break.

Ever since losing to Manchester City on the opening weekend of the campaign, the Blues have generally impressed in all competitions.

A six-match unbeaten streak where they have accumulated 14 points has been put together to leave Enzo Maresca's side in fourth place in the standings.

However, the 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest on Sunday will be interpreted as a blow, particularly with the East Midlands outfit having finished with 10 men courtesy of James Ward-Prowse's red card in the second half.

During the closing stages, both teams were involved in a brawl after Neco Williams nudged Marc Cucurella into Maresca, who subsequently went to ground and a fracas quickly ensuing.

What occurred next?

In the heat of the incident, Nicolas Jackson pushed Forest defender Morato in the face, VAR at the time deciding that it was not enough to warrant a red card.

Nevertheless, it was later revealed that the officials operating the technology did not have all the camera angles available to them that have since been provided.

The Football Association announced on Tuesday that both clubs had been charged for failing to control their players, allowing them until October 10 to provide their responses.

Despite that awaiting punishment, however, it has been revealed that Jackson will not face any charge for his part in the scenes that developed in the 88th minute of the contest.

Therefore, the Senegal international is available to feature in Chelsea's next Premier League fixture against league leaders Liverpool on October 20.

A necessary boost for Chelsea?

Jackson may not have scored against Forest but the 23-year-old has enjoyed a strong start to his second campaign in English football.

A total of four goals and three assists have been contributed from his seven starts, five of which have come in away games at Wolverhampton Wanderers and West Ham United.

Although Christopher Nkunku is a more-than-capable deputy, Jackson has been performing like a player determined to hold down the number-nine spot in Premier League games, a response to Victor Osimhen almost signing from Napoli in the summer.

In defence, Chelsea will be missing two of their defenders after they each collected their fifth booking of the domestic season versus Forest.
