Chelsea defender Gary Cahill frustrated with opening-day draw

Chelsea defender Gary Cahill admits that he and his teammates were disappointed to draw their opening Premier League fixture against Swansea City at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea defender Gary Cahill has conceded that he was frustrated to take only a point from his side's opening-day clash against Swansea City.

The Blues took the lead through Oscar but were pegged back by a strike from Andre Ayew, although they soon regained the advantage when Federico Fernandez put the ball into his own net.

However, keeper Thibaut Courtois was sent off early in the second half after bringing down Bafetimbi Gomis in the box and the Frenchman duly scored from the spot to level the scores.

Both teams pushed for a winner, but were forced to share the spoils at Stamford Bridge, much to the disappointment of the defender.

Cahill told Sky Sports News: "They made it tough for us. We played with 10 men for a long period of the game, so it was difficult. I feel a bit flat, I feel a bit disappointed after the game.

"It seemed like it was a bit of a frantic game, especially in the second half - it was like we attack them, they attack us, we attack them, they attack us.

"So maybe a bit more control in the game (was needed) but unfortunately obviously a draw at home which is, to be honest, not ideal but give a lot of respect to Swansea, they played well."

Chelsea play Manchester City in their next Premier League clash next Sunday.
