Roberto Di Matteo 'excited' about Barcelona tie

Roberto Di Matteo describes Barcelona as "one of the best teams in the world".

Chelsea interim manager Roberto Di Matteo is relishing the prospect of a Champions League semi-final against Barcelona.

The Italian, who guided his side to a 2-1 victory over Benfica this evening, described the Catalan giants as "one of the best teams in the world".

He told ITV1: "Let me enjoy this first of all. We play Wigan on Saturday and we have to focus on that first.

"[Barcelona] are probably one of the best teams in the world, if not the best. We are excited to be able to play a semi-final against a big team."

Chelsea capped off a 3-1 aggregate win over the Portuguese side with tonight's result to progress to the semi-finals. "We knew before the game we were going to face a difficult game tonight and it proved that," Di Matteo added.

"Benfica are a good side, but we are pleased we are in the semi-final now. The second goal was missing to kill the game. With a 1-0 lead they still had a chance and they knew that. We missed a lot of chances to kill the game."

Real Madrid also progressed to the last four of the Champions League with a 5-2 victory over APOEL Nicosia.
