Real Madrid team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Chelsea

Sports Mole rounds up all of Real Madrid's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Wednesday's Champions League clash with Chelsea.

Real Madrid will be looking to book their spot in the Champions League final when they travel to Chelsea for the first leg of their semi-final on Wednesday night.

Los Blancos played out a 1-1 draw with the Blues in the first leg of their last-four contest on April 27, meaning that the tie is delicately poised ahead of the return fixture.

Zinedine Zidane's side also boosted their La Liga title hopes on Saturday courtesy of a 2-0 home success over Osasuna, with Eder Militao and Casemiro on the scoresheet for the reigning champions.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of Madrid's injury and suspension news ahead of the contest in the English capital.

Sergio Ramos

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Calf
Possible return date: May 5 (vs. Chelsea)

Sergio Ramos has recently been on the sidelines with a calf problem, and he was again absent against Osasuna on Saturday. The centre-back trained last week, though, and he is expected to make his return to the starting XI against Thomas Tuchel's side.

Lucas Vazquez

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Lucas Vazquez has been on the sidelines since suffering a knee injury against Barcelona last month, and it is currently unclear when the Spaniard will be available for selection once again.

Federico Valverde

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Coronavirus
Possible return date: May 5 (vs. Chelsea)

Federico Valverde has recently been absent through coronavirus, but he will be free to train with his teammates on Sunday providing he delivers a second negative result, and it seems likely that the midfielder will be in the squad.

Ferland Mendy

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Calf
Possible return date: May 5 (vs. Chelsea)

Ferland Mendy has not yet officially been ruled out of this match with a calf problem, but the Frenchman has not trained with the squad since picking up the issue, and he is therefore still a major doubt.

Dani Carvajal

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: Unknown

Dani Carvajal picked up a hamstring injury in the first leg against Chelsea, and the Spain international is expected to be on the sidelines for the next three weeks or so.

Raphael Varane

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Leg
Possible return date: May 5 (vs. Chelsea)

Raphael Varane has emerged as a slight doubt for Wednesday's clash with Chelsea, having been forced off the field against Osasuna on Saturday due to discomfort in his right leg.

REAL MADRID'S SUSPENSION LIST

Madrid have no players suspended for the European contest.
