Half-Time Report: Barnsley level against Charlton Athletic

Charlton Athletic's basement battle with Barnsley remains goalless after 45 minutes.

Barnsley and Charlton Athletic have both been guilty of spurning chances in a goalless first half at The Valley.

Salim Kerkar produced an inviting cross with a mazy run on the left for Charlton's brightest moment of the early stages but failed to pick out a teammate.

Barnsley threatened through Jacob Mellis and Craig Davies, who combined to find Chris Dagnall in the penalty area, but his scuffed shot failed to trouble the Charlton goal.

Mellis span on the ball to evade his marker in stoppage time but his shot flew wide to end a bright 45 minutes.
