Neither Birmingham nor Barnsley can break the deadlock in the first half of their Championship match this afternoon.

Birmingham City and Barnsley are locked at 0-0 at half-time of their Championship match this afternoon.

Barnsley came close to taking the lead after just three minutes when Chris Dagnall struck from close range, but Jack Butland was alert enough to keep the sides level.

Dagnall forced another save from Butland just after the half-hour mark, this time from 20 yards out.

The duo continued their personal battle four minutes later, and again it was Butland who came out on top as he was out quick to deny Dagnall once more.

Wade Elliott forced the first meaningful save out of Ben Alnwick in the 44th minute, but his 25-yard effort was comfortable for the keeper.
