Central Coast Mariners edge out Sydney FC to go third

Mile Sterjovski's deflected winner gives the Central Coast Mariners a 1-0 win at Sydney FC, a result that sees the visitors climb to third in the A-League table.

The Central Coast Mariners have climbed to third in the A-League table by inflicting a third home defeat of the season on Sydney FC.

Former Australia international Mile Sterjovski scored the only goal of the game on 58 minutes.

Sterjovski's hopeful shot from 25 yards found the net via a huge deflection off the elbow of Matt Jurman.

The Mariners are now unbeaten in four matches, while Sydney are winless in five.
