Lazio sporting director Igli Tare has denied saying that the club is interested in signing Celtic striker Giorgos Samaras.
The Albanian was quoted in the Daily Record speaking of his admiration for the Greek international, but he has distanced himself from those comments.
"I have not talked to British newspapers," the 40-year-old told Laaziosiamonoi.
"Samaras? Currently he is not a goal of ours. At the moment, the market is not a priority for Lazio. First we have to reverse the trend we're currently experiencing in the League. Only then can we think about possible reinforcements."
Samaras, 28, has scored five times for the Bhoys this season.
